What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a method of assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of health complaints.

For our bodies to function well we rely on different structures (bones, muscles, joints, connective tissues and organs) working together effectively. The body has an innate ability to heal itself, by working with the body osteopaths aim to promote and restore normal function. This is achieved by using a variety of non-invasive techniques such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisations, stretching and joint manipulations. Osteopaths may also give postural and lifestyle advice and prescribe exercises to aid recovery and prevent reoccurrence of symptoms.

Our aim is to increase mobility and improve overall function, reducing pain and assisting the body in its natural recovery.
