How do I make an appointment?

The quickest, easiest way to make an appointment is to call us on 01789 720550. Calls are answered 8am-6pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively you can email info@threeshiresosteo.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Do you offer home visits?

No we do not offer home visits, all appointments take place at our practice.

Does my GP need to refer me?

No, you do not need a referral from your GP, although we encourage you to keep your GP informed of any medical concerns to ensure that your records are up to date and you receive the best possible care.

What should I wear to my appointment?

During examination and treatment you will usually be required to remove some of your clothing in order for the osteopath to assess and treat the areas of concern. If you do not feel comfortable undressing to your underwear then a suitable alternative may be worn (such as loose fitting shorts and a vest top/loose t-shirt). We want you to feel at ease, if you are unsure about what to wear please contact the practice to discuss this.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring details of any current medications to your first appointment. Please bring details of any previous scans, X-rays or other procedures that you think may be relevant.

How long is the appointment?

Please allow 1 hour for your first appointment. Follow up appointments will be approximately 30 minutes.

Please note that these timings are for guidance. Time spent on treatment may vary depending on your individual needs and treatment plan.

Will it hurt?

Osteopathic treatment is usually a very gentle process and osteopaths work very hard to make treatment as painless as possible, but you may experience some discomfort during and after treatment. Following treatment it is not unusual to feel mild discomfort such as sore/aching muscles (similar to what you may feel after exercise), some people experience other mild symptoms such as tiredness or a headache. These symptoms usually resolve within 48 hours, if you have any concerns following your treatment please contact your osteopath for advice.

Can I bring a friend or relative?

You are welcome to bring a friend or relative to accompany you to your appointment should you wish to.

Please note all chaperones will be required to comply with current covid/infection control protocols.

How many appointments will I need?

Can I pay using healthcare insurance?

Please note: we are not registered with health insurance companies and are unable to invoice health insurance providers directly. Some policies may still allow you to claim back some or all of your treatment fee, please check with your health insurance provider BEFORE commencing treatment. We will be happy to provide you with an invoice for your appointments.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Missed appointments and late cancellations represent a cost to the practice, can interfere with treatment and cause unnecessary scheduling problems for other patients.

Should you need to cancel your appointment please give a minimum of 24 hours notice. Giving as much notice as possible helps you to avoid cancellation fees and means that your appointment can be offered to somebody else who may need it.

If you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend a booked appointment without notice you will be charged the full appointment fee.

It is understandable that sometimes cancellations cannot be helped due to illness or an emergency and we will take all valid circumstances into account.

Please note: at the osteopath’s discretion patients who repeatedly cancel at late notice or fail to attend appointments without notice may be required to pay upfront for future appointments or may be supported to find an alternative practice which has a cancellation policy that is more suited to their needs.

We thank you for your co-operation and understanding.

What is your infection control policy?
